PMUC contributes to supporting the development of the country’s rail system industry.

On September 6, 2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thongchai Suwansichon, Director of the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC), and Dr. Watcharapol Chayaprasert, Director of the Logistics and Rail Systems Program at PMUC, jointly organized the “Rail Research and Technology Conference 2023” or RRTC 2023, a scientific seminar with the theme “Industry – Academic Linkage.” This event was held in collaboration between the Rail Technology Research and Development Agency (Public Organization) and the Hub of Talents: Thailand Railway Research Network, aiming to facilitate knowledge exchange and transfer of rail system technology expertise among government agencies, industry sectors, and educational institutions. The conference aimed to develop research projects that meet the needs of the country’s railway industry.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Chaiyathan Phromsorn, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, and attended by Mr. Chotichai Jarungam, Chairman of the RTRDA, and Miss Sunee Lertpeantham, Inspector General of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation. The event took place at the World Ballroom on the 23rd floor of the Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Center at CentralWorld in Bangkok.
This conference brought together experts, researchers, and academic institutions in the private and rail system industries, as well as relevant government agencies involved in developing rail transportation systems and rail system industries. More than 300 individuals participated. BPC set up a booth to showcase their work in providing research and development funding for rail system projects and offered consultation on obtaining support for researchers and entrepreneurs in the rail system field. The conference took place over two days, from September 6th to 7th, 2023, at the World Ballroom on the 23rd floor of the Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Center at CentralWorld.
